CHEESEMAKING IN THE MOUNTAINS OF KYTHIRA
Two women, an elderly mother and a daughter living in Kythira (a small island between Peloponnese and Crete), raise goats and live on the cheese who produce. They survive whole year round at the steep mountains, half an hour away from the closest village. On Saturdays, at the open country market, they try to sell their delicious cheeses, the famous ladotyri, sfela and fresh mitzithra.
